Soon the 2.500 patch will be here! Below is a list of the so far released update notes.
v2.500

Online
- Fixed multiple network related crash bugs and connection issues.
- -port (port #) command line extension. With this command you can specify the port CoH uses to connect. This is especially helpful for players on the same LAN.

Fixes
- Grass will no longer render if the option to disable it is checked in options.
- Streamlined the voice configuration options to 32, 64 and 128 voices.
- Allied Airborne “Strafing Run” will no longer deceptively fire to one side.
- Planes will no longer path along the ground killing infantry/units.
- All mine and Goliath Drop abilities can now be used on bridges.
- All mine and Goliath Drop abilities now use a ghost preview opposed to circular UI element prior to ability placement.
- Knights Cross Golders will now retain veterancy bonuses after reinforcing.
- Commonwealth Emplacements captured by other armies will no longer obtain veterancy.
- Fixed corrupted Fuel and Munitions resource rates when a British Captain with max veterancy moves from one territory to another.
- Vickers Nests will no longer leave behind a 'no fire' zone when destroyed while a unit is in it's line of fire.

Gameplay
- Anti-Tank Class weapons (specifically the 37mm Pak 35, 50mm pak 38, 75mm pak 40, 17 pounder, m1 57mm atg) are now in general 5% less accurate against infantry in all scenarios, and 15% less accurate against “Sniper”, “Elite” or “Soldier” (Commonwealth Infantry, Panzer Grenadiers) type infantry that are moving.
- Allied Sherman Calliope Barrage ability recharge time reductions from each veterancy level reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds, for a total of 75second recharge at the third level of veterancy.
- Panzer Elite Marder III when using “Site Main Gun” ability has had its 35% penetration bonus returned.
- Allied Rangers and Airborne “Fire-Up” Ability now has a minor 5 Munitions cost associated with it.
- Allied Airborne “Strafing Run” ability cost has increased from 150 Munitions to 175 Munitions.
- Panzer Elite Kettenkrad Camouflage ability now reduces both Sight Radius and Camouflage Detection radius by 30%.
- Infantry Anti-Tank Class weapons (specifically Bazookas, Panzerschrecks, Recoilless Rifles) previously had a flat 50% damage reduction vs. Axis targets upgraded with Armored Skirts, this has been changed over to a 25% damage reduction and 25% penetration reduction. This amount is relative to what the weapon was doing prior to the target having skirts.
- Commonwealth PIAT Infantry Anti-Tank weapons will have a 25% damage reduction vs. Axis Armored Skirts.
- Commonwealth Tetrarch Main Gun area-of-effect radius slightly reduced, slightly reducing effectiveness vs. infantry targets.
- Commonwealth Tetrarch Littlejohn Adapter will now increase penetration rates vs. all Armor by an additional 20%.
- Allied Sherman and M3 Halftracks will now benefit from Vehicle Cover.
- Allied M10 Tank Destroyer Sight Radius reverted back to standard.
- Axis Nebelwerfer Burning Ground damage will now do no damage to heavy armor and reduced damage to light armor.
- Axis Nebelwerfer Burning Ground damage will no longer be able to kill heavy armor or light armor.
- Axis Stormtrooper Suppression Recovery now matches that of a Grenadier squad, previously they had recovered from suppression roughly 4-5x slower.
- Commonwealth Sherman Firefly Tank Commander upgrade cost increased from 10 Munitions to 30 munitions.
- Commonwealth Button Down Enemy Vehicle behavior reverted.
- Axis Vehicles (specifically the Motorcylce, Halftrack, and Sdkfz 234 Armored Car) get increasingly more difficult for enemy weapons to hit while they are moving at each level of veterancy. These bonuses are on-top of their existing veterancy bonuses. At third level veterancy these bonuses will stack to a -42.2% chance to hit these vehicles while they are moving.
- Axis Sdkfz 234 Armored Car first level veterancy bonus changed from a -15% received enemy accuracy bonus to a -15% received damage bonus.

The End of Tales of Heroes?

Idaeus | Comments: 3

After a long wait, dead silence from the hosts and numerous rumors, a new announcement has been made about Tales of Heroes.
Well guys it's been quite a while. I'm sorry I didn't post any news in the recent past. I've been doing some thinking and I've decided to give CoH one more shot. I have at the very least, one last show lined up, but we'll see if the balance patch currently in beta can bring back the spark. Stay tuned, I promise to get #75 out in the next few weeks, and I'll keep you all more posted on my progress.
We may be seeing the end of Tales of Heroes. No matter if you think thats good or bad.

Company of Heroes Balance Playtest Released

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 6

Relic has announced today the release of their balance playtest to help beta test for the upcoming 2.400 patch. Take a look:
We are pleased to announce the Company of Heroes – Balance Playtest! Some things we plan on introducing throughout this Playtest are:

1. Host Proxy support. The network layer has been re-written to support host relayed traffic. What does this mean? Essentially, if you can connect to the host of the game you can connect to everyone else!
2. Map Contest. The top community submitted maps will be added to the PlayTest! These maps will be part of the auto-match loop as well as random play. The winners will be announced at the end of the beta, by you!
3. Bittorrent Downloader. In order to assist with the delivery of patches and additional content, an opt-in bittorrent system will be tested to help distribute data to you much more quickly.
4. Daily/Bi-daily Gameplay Changes & fixes. As with the last beta we will be iterating very quickly making the Company of Heroes gaming experience even better!

NOTE: The Company of Heroes - Balance Playtest will not modify any of your existing Company of Heroes or Opposing Fronts game files. This installer will work for all locales.

Below are the installation and requirement details on the Playtest:

Download the installer from here: http://thq.vo.llnwd.net/o10/CoH/playtest/CoH_Playtest_Setup.exe

New Feature in Upcoming Beta Patch

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 1

We recently reported about a new beta patch being released, today we have a follow up article on it. It seems from a post over on the Relic forums by Cryogen that the new patch will contain a new feature. Take a look:
The new networking layer in this next beta supports Host proxying. Because it does, the only person that you have to connect to in order to be in the game is the host of the game. This should improve connectivity of 4/6/8 player games to be the same as what 2 player games are like now.
Stay tuned for more news as well as the eventual release of this new patch!
Tales of Heroes 74: Artillery Jumping

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 0

The Tale of Heroes Podcast has released their latest episode recently. Here's what they had to say:
Here it is guys, Episode #74 is finally available! The first render of the show seemed too blurry, so i upped the quality a bit (which is why it's later than i'd like). I'll also be updating the podcast with an ipod compatible version later today and streaming is still on the way.

As for the show, it's a great match on the new Beaux Lowlands between some high ranked players. Riflespam to M8 faces off against heavy T2 wehrmact in this exciting game!
